Do you want to freelance full-time?

I quit my job in 2017 to freelance full-time, and have steadily increased my income—and reduced my hours—each year. Since then, I’ve traveled the world on assignment and written for publications including Outside, Backpacker, The New York Times, HGTV, Travel Channel, Gossamer, Flow, The Denver Post, and so many more. Whether you’re looking to leave a writing job for the freedom of running your own business or you’re starting completely from zero, with no published work, I can help you build a lucrative career you’ll love.

I’ll help you build a new career fast.

I design a custom coaching program for each of my clients. Whether you’re currently working full-time at a soul-sucking job you hate or you’ve already quit your day job, I can set you up for success in whatever spare time you have. I’ll teach you all the basics, set you up with the same tools I use, and guide you through pitching. I’ll give you homework assignments designed to ensure you stay on track and actually keep your New Year’s resolution to retire from law—I’m not a hands-off coach. In addition to regular video calls where I’ll answer all your questions, workshop your writing and pitches and help you brainstorm who and what to pitch, I’ll also be fully available to you via email and WhatsApp during the course of our program.

Here’s how it works:

We start with a consultation. You’ll send me a sample of your writing, and I’ll critique it. During a 20-minute video call, I’ll offer feedback on your work and we’ll discuss your goals, experience, learning style, dream writing career, hopes, fears, etc. I’ll explain where I think I can get you in the span of three months or less, and you can also ask me anything you want about my career and the freelance life in general. If we decide to work together, I’ll make a plan specific to your needs.

If you haven’t been published yet, that’s OK—you can send me an unpublished article or essay you’d like me to critique. If you don’t have anything and aren’t sure where to get started, I can help with that, too. Sign up for one of my free Office Hours sessions and I’ll pull a story idea out of you and send you on your way to writing your very first draft.

Join the waiting list.

I’m taking on my next set of clients after the New Year. We’ll start 2021 off right.

Space is limited: I’m only taking on five clients. You can sign up for a consultation here to secure your spot.

In the meantime, you can also sign up below for occasional promotions, updates on new coaching programs, and dispatches from the freelance life.

Have just a few burning questions and can’t wait till 2021 to get started? I love to hear it. You can book a one-hour call with me here.
